Why not 20 Spiral Ups/Day?

To start the new year, consider trusting your emotional mind to do what it does best: return you to a natural state of joy.

Last year, I faced a host of health issues for the first time in my life, and now that I'm back to health, I've decided to increase my EBT prescription. Going up 10 times a day seemed sad to me. Why do I feel good only 10 times a day when I can do so much more?

So I set my goal at 20, and I found myself laughing because it was actually easier than doing just 10 of them. My mind stayed in a higher state, so I didn't have to disrupt those stress circuits to feel good. Consider trying my prescription “20 daily spirals”!

New to EBT? Start with 5 spiral movements

It definitely takes some time to get used to the idea of ​​turning stress into joy, so I don't recommend starting with 20 spiral exercises a day. Five of them are enough to scare your amygdala at first, but that will soon change.

However, after a week or so of five spirals, the brain will get bored if we don't challenge it and get to 10 of them.

However, since instant reinforcement only takes a minute with training (and a clear desire to go through the process and get it done), even disabling stress 10 times a day seems a bit negligent. Why not take some of the other 23 hours and 50 minutes and escalate some more?

When I topped up my e-therapy prescription, I became curious about how many medications I really needed. Scalping is now part of my brain on a cellular level, but given my health issues this past year and my desire for optimal health, why not do more of it?

Even now, three days into my new plan, I'm surprised. I love the new recipe. It's not hard to do, and I turned 20 yesterday. . . Collect 23 of them and 33 joy points.

I will continue to explore this, and I hope you will too. However, one thing you don't have to worry about is becoming addicted to joy. All sublime emotions, including love, compassion, hope, forgiveness, and awe, are natural pleasures that flow. Instead of the wire-addicted feeling of “I have to figure this out,” the desire is to cherish the moment, knowing full well that it will fade away so we can send that email, fold the laundry, do the dishes, and then go back again and again in time.

The surges of joy are not the “I gotta have this” of addiction, but the “I got this…”. Of perfect health. It's a multi-layered feeling of satisfaction and worth training your resilience pathways to achieve.

“I've got this…” The feeling of adopting a strong EBT practice is about emotional security, that we know how to take good care of ourselves, and we do. We put our joy first, and then everything good will flow from that.
